Senior Year: An End and a Beginning

Have you ever looked back and realized all of the things that seemed small at the time were actually special in some way? These memories can bring joy and happiness even though at the time you were just living in the moment. It is easy to focus on getting through senior year to move on to college, but this is the last year to make memories with people you could never see again. Instead of getting out of bed and going through the motions of class, workouts, and studying I want to enjoy each day. Taking the time to enjoy the small things in life will make my senior year a success. Senior year is not only the end of high school but is the pathway to the future. The responsibilities of being an adult are quickly becoming more of a reality. The decisions that need to be made are having a greater long-term impact on my life. Senior year will prepare me to handle day-to-day activities while being responsible for planning the future. The challenge of each day is to learn more about myself so when facing a tough choice I will have the confidence to make the right decision. Knowing there are people to help guide me during this year makes the transition to adulthood smoother. Seeking the plan God has for my life will be one of my focuses during senior year. By praying and staying in God’s word, His plan will be more evident in my life. The fear and worry of what the future holds are replaced by comfort and peace. Prioritizing God in my day-to-day life will help me grow as a person and will help me appreciate the time left in high school. Senior year is an opportunity to enjoy living in the moment and learning you can do so while striving to be the best you can be. Having fun with friends and continuing to build the relationships we have formed over the years will create memories that will last a lifetime. I realize this may be the last opportunity to reminisce with my classmates, but there is also excitement in seeing what each plans to do with his or her life.
